Harold the Great White Heron
After spending several mornings at Ft. Zach, I noticed that this Great Egret (in Florida it is called a Great White Heron) was very punctual. Between 9-9:30 am each morning he would fly in from the direction of Mule Key traversing over the grassy field and then settling near the fort wall. The morning that I shot this photo I was waiting for him and was fortunate that he flew nearly directly overhead.
Shot at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park April 19, 2019.
